We are a small but nimble group, specializing in creative design and development. We are ever enthusiastic about interactive and innovative media, and are always thrilled at the prospect of interesting and engaging projects with wonderful people. Our company is made up of three key Principals, Ann Karash Kimura, John Torres, and Joel Oliveira (as well as a talented network of amiable individuals).
with a number of exciting projects lately, adding a happy list of engaging pieces to our portfolio. At the MFA, we're busy working on projects involving the new American Wing, and were thrilled to see the Sargent Kiosk installed in the museum's Lower Rotunda. Although we're thrilled to see the Egypt show, we'll very much miss the Venice Exhibition. Finally, we're looking forward to the launch of Educators Online (and to hearing how teachers are enjoying the new robust set of tools that the site offers). With Virgin HealthMiles, we've just completed a large set of promotional projects, including an animated Welcome Demo and a glossy Sales Kit brochure. Virgin HealthMiles is involved with many community wellness initiatives, National Employee Wellness Month being the most recent, for which we designed and built a blog-based microsite. Continuing on the community wellness theme, we were approached by Medford Health Matters, a community health initiative non-profit, to help with a redesign of their logo, website, and marketing materials (and we're tickled with the result: a fresh brand identity and much improved website capabilities to promote the organization).
for our young company. We've built some great partnerships and friendships, have many exciting launches in the works, and are looking forward to a plethora of exciting work ahead. We look forward to new projects and a new year, as well as the many healthy and happy obsessions we indulge in (in and out of the office).
Ann is an ever enthusiastic designer with ten years of experience in interactive marketing and communications. She is a graduate of Stanford University, with a degree in American Studies and Art History (with honors and distinction). Ann’s professional experience ranges from small and scrappy studios to advertising agencies. Her ideal design role is one of creative collaboration and interdisciplinary approach.
John began his career studying architecture, but his affinity for both the creative design and technology led him to design for the web, specifically Flash and animation design. Ever an enthusiast for advancing the medium, John’s design abilities extend from elegant layout, motion graphics, and video to ActionScript and front-end coding. John is a master problem-solver (and loves a good challenge) both from a functional and design perspective.
Joel Oliveira is a master of front-end development whose utmost goal is to produce elegant code with strategies that allow a user experience to be both innovative and seamless. Joel's can-do attitude and utmost competence make him a unique problem-solver, always on the lookout for an engaging solution that both improves function and breaks new ground. Joel has experience with all facets of front and back-end development — semantic standards-based (x)html, javascript/ajax, JS frameworks, PHP, Ruby on Rails, and beyond.
